260 GTX – Technical Bulletin
Sunoco 260 GTX is an unleaded racing fuel that contains no oxygenates and no metallic additives. Thus, it does not contain any ethers (such as ETBE or MTBE), alcohols (such as ethanol or methanol), and it does not contain MMT. 260 GTX is not a street legal fuel and is for off-road use only.
Sunoco 260 GTX is a good fuel for many applications that need more detonation protection than street gas provides, yet cannot use a leaded fuel. It has been shown to produce good, repeatable power levels in engines over 12:1 compression ratio, and will tolerate more compression in engines with modern, efficient combustion chambers. 260 GTX contains no lead or MMT. It does not harm sensors used in fuel injection systems. It is also an excellent choice where oxygenates such as ethanol are limited or banned by the engine manufacturer or sanctioning organization.
Sunoco 260 GTX is a stable fuel and contains additives to enhance shelf life and promote clean engine components. However, as with any gasoline, it should be stored in dark, tightly sealed containers where the temperature is stable. Handled under such conditions, the shelf life of 260 GTX is in excess of 1 year.
