Has anybody installed the rear brake on the jackshaft? I would reduce unsprung weight but will the failure mode of broken chain = no rear brakes could cause the tech guys to give it the tumbs down?

The Sidewinder has been using the brake on the jackshaft for about the past 5 years or more. I am not aware of them receiving any grief from Tech.

Even if the drive belt/chain breaks, the caliper is still grasping the disk and without the gross pedal travel of 'losing' the braking system on one end of the car, the front brakes will operate in a normal fashion.
