|
|
Greetings to all,
Thanks to EFCN for setting up this new section of the forum just to post and report info on the FCM Formula First series.
On Saturday, November 5, most of the FCM FFS dates will be set at the SCCA CenDiv Roundtable in Milwaukee, WI. At that point, the process will begin to orgainize the race program dates for '06.
The series is poised for serious growth this year in both car counts and additional venues. In'05, our first season as a recognized SCCA Regional class, FST was in the top 50% of class entries in CenDiv Area 4 & 5 Regional races.
Please use this thread to ask questions about the cars, the tracks and the series. We will be posting information as it becomes available.

Although it is not completely official (90% range), here is the tentative schedule for the
2006 FormulaCar Magazine Formula First/Formula Vee Challenge Cup
Round 1 - May 27 Grattan
Round 2 - May 28 Grattan
Round 3 - July 8 Blackhawk Farms
Round 4 - July 9 Blackhawk Farms
Round 5 - July 22/23 Watkins Glen
Round 6 - August 26 Road America
Round 7 - August 27 Road America
Round 8 - September 9 Mid-Ohio
Round 9 - September 10 Mid-Ohio
An expanded schedule for a rapidly growing racing series. In '06 we are looking at our first 20+ car race.
Once we get final info, we will post the official schedule. Please feel free to comment on this tentative schedule.

Bill,
I just wanted to clarify a couple things. First of all, is the official name of the FCM-FFC actually the 2006 FormulaCar Magazine Formula First/Formula Vee Challenge Cup? I want to make sure I get that right on any information I send out about my entry into the series.
Also, is it safe to assume that the WGI regional is just a single regional weekend (since you only have one round listed there)?

Matt,
Your correct, Rob came up with the official series name of:
2006 FormulaCar Magazine Formula First/Formula Vee Challenge Cup
We will be including our FV cousins in the program as Rob will be campaining a new Womer EV-1 in '06.
As best as I can read the NE schedule, the WG race is a single. As an incentive, we may make it a double points race or something similar to make the long tow worth while.
