Hey all,
I am new to racing but am very excited to get started in f500. I live in the Phoenix area and was wondering if there is anybody out there that has any information about where and when races are held in my area. Also I would love to help out somebody who is already racing to learn the ropes and see what it is all about. Any help would be appreciated, there is very limited info on the web for my area. But I know that they do race out here.

Michael

As far as when things are happening, look at the AZ SCCA site at http://www.azscca.com/.

I'm sure someone who lives in the area will get back to you.

I have looked at the SCCA regional site. But it is vague at best. I will try to call the coordinator tomorrow and see if she can provide more info. Thanks.

Hi,
Since the racing retirement of KBS and Lopardo Racing the Southern Pacific division has been fairly quiet for F500s. Eric Christensen of f500.org fame is in Tucson and expressed some interest in returning to the class. He would be worth contacting (edc@proadmin.com) if you can drag him away from his lovely girlfriend that is.
We'll be making it as far as Fontana for the Double National January 25-27 - if you can make it there we'd be happy to share what we know and talk about how to get started. There should be 3 or 4 F500s there.
The Phoenix area has two tracks nearby; PIR (http://www.phoenixinternationalraceway.com/) and Firebird (http://www.firebirdraceway.com/). The SCCA region runs regionals and nationals at both tracks.
You also might call Don Clar at 825-939-8067 as he usually knows where all of the West Coast cars are hiding. Or you can call me at 408-582-3890 and we can talk about what you're looking for.
Hopefully we'll add on to this year's growth and get some of the cars that have been "resting" out to play more often next year.
Regards,
Jeff
