|
|
| the phazer motor introduced this year is 500cc and has a dry sump. It produces 85hp at 10500 rpms. It has a built in starter and a rereduction on the pto to aid in belt life. Is has a 30mm tapered so you can use alot of differrent cluches with out machining like you had to do with the rotax. Yamaha phazer is a entry level sled and the fan cooled motor they made for thier old phazer they they made for about 15yrs with few changes. How said we had to up hp. If you want a 4 stroke that will fit all the chasises. this motor would do it. It is a twin cylinder which basically was made from the 250 dirt bike motor. |

Will it fit in a F500 chassis? It uses the same CVT set-up as the current 2-stroke engines? Any info on the cost and availability of this motor and its parts? I would be interested in using this motor in my Solo car, if it would be allowed under the current rules? Anyone know?

The F500 has a restrictive engine rule, which I also believe carries over to the F Mod Solo side of the sport. The Phazer engine is not one of the permitted engines.
The Legal engines are
Chaparral - Reed Valve engine built by Fuji Heavy Industries (440 cc)
Kawasaki - Piston Port engine w/oil injection(440 cc)
AMW - Reed Valve engine (500 cc)
Rotax 494 - Rotary Valve engine w/oil injection (500 cc)
Rotax 493 - Reed Valve engine w/oil injection (500 cc)
Those engines not listed as having oil injection must have oil mixed in the gas for their lubrication. The SCCA GCR (General Competition Regulation) and Solo Rules describe the engines in more detail and specificity. |

Thanks, Mr. McAbee.
If I decided to use this motor in Solo, what class would that put me in?
I'm still trying to decode the scca rule book. Would it still be F-Mod?

I am not a Solo guy.....Art Trier (sp) is the resident F Mod Solo Guru...give him a PM. I would expect an F Mod car with a non F Mod legal engine would probably go to A Mod...but I am certain Art knows the proper, correct, answer. |
