Saw on another board that a few new drivers are running IPS, what veterans are in this year and who will be the championship contenders?

Yeah I saw Crews is coming back to IPS to run a full-season. Also heard Bobby Wilson, Mike Potekhen and Sean Guthrie will return to the series in 2007. As for newcomers, I believe Star Mazda drivers Adrian Carrio and Ryan Justice are leaning towards running with the series. Given who I expect to race next year I would have to say Alex Lloyd and Wilson have to be the early favorites for the title. On side note, anyone heard if Klein moving up to IRL? With Klein tools, owned by his family, as a sponsor figured he probably move up.

I was told its a done deal that Klien will be in the IRL next season. Wilson will be returning to the series and with the same team. I believe Festa is returning to the series also.

Logan Gomes is going to be with Sam Schmidt Motorsports. A Trans-Am legend is going to be trying to make his way to IPS also in 07.

With the Trans-Am Series being on temorary hiatus, Joey is seriously looking at IPS for 2007. He is talking with a couple of teams, in IPS and in the Busch Series. He would like to talk to more teams before he makes a decision. Joey will be testing in Homestead later this month. Other teams wanting to contact Joey can call him at 631-974-4386. Joey's biggest concern is to sign with a team that can win races and a championship.

Hey Al,
Can you set up the same driver line-up post with all the teams for IPS. With Jaeger joining the IPS for 07, it looks like more and more drivers are moving up. Is it because of more road races in the schedule? _________________ David Cole

I think its that and I think its the fact that you can actually make money racing in IPS and pay for some of your ride with the purse. I hate to say it, but I would choose IPS over Atlantic.

Chris,
There is not doubt that the current formula for the IPS program has some high points. The purse is very solid and then certainly have some good venues with which to put together a marketing package. The IRL seem to be doing a solid job of building the program and I expect that the 2007 season will be extremely exciting to watch. The influx of new teams is awesome.
