There is an old adage in racing that goes ‘In order to finish first, you first must finish’. One Formula Racing, a Formula Enterprises class standout and Customer Service Representative, certainly took that saying to a new level this year in SCCA Club Racing National competition, finishing all 35 races it started.

One of the keys to success in motorsports has always been reliability. Now one way of achieving that, is by racing a quality car. Those racing in the Formula Enterprises class are fortunate to have such a vehicle. While the FE car has certainly endured some growing pains, SCCA Enterprises and its Customer Service Representatives have worked hard to address each issue, resulting in one of the most reliable junior formula cars on the market today. That being said, proper maintenance and preparation are key ingredients as well to achieving results week in and week out on the track.

For One Formula Racing, the first step towards potentially challenging for race wins has always been car preparation. By paying attention to the details before a car rolls on-course, each racer is given the best opportunity to succeed. That approach resulted in a remarkable run for One Formula Racing in SCCA Formula Enterprises National competition in 2011.

One Formula Racing, in what may be a first for a multi-car squad, had all 35 of its cars that took the green flag this past season, also take the checkered flag. As impressive as that is, the One Formula racers were not just out there running around, but were rather battling for top honors. The drivers for the Scales Mound, Ill.-based squad won six of the 10 races they competed, and captured 17 of a possible 26 podium positions. In the SCCA Central Division, One Formula Racing was a leading force in the Formula Enterprises class, with its drivers taking the top four places in the standings. The success was not limited to just the one division, as 16 year-old racing rookie Ethan Ringel won two of the four races he contested in the Rocky Mountain Division behind the wheel of a One Formula Racing entry. In fact, thanks in large part to One Formula Racing’s dedication towards car preparation, and the inherit reliability of the FE car, Jeff Beck, Denny Marklein, Steve Stadel, Tyler Walsh, and Ringel all earned invitations to annual year-end SCCA National Championship Runoffs, where the best of the best will go head-to-head on the Road America road course.

While very little can guarantee success in motorsports, reliability and preparation can certainly increase the odds, as One Formula Racing and the Formula Enterprises car have shown.
