Michael Crawford Motorsports has announced it will return to Firestone Indy Lights competition via the upcoming rounds at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Infineon Raceway. Driving for the team will be Mexican Juan Pablo Garcia.

After a lengthy hiatus from Indy Lights action, during which time Michael Crawford Motorsports leased its car to other teams, the Indiana-based squad will return to series competition in Ohio and Northern California. With Garcia getting behind the wheel of the No. 8 Michael Crawford Motorsports entry, the squad will contest Round Nine at Mid-Ohio, and Round 10 at Infineon. Garcia previously worked with Michael Crawford in 2009, contesting the Indy Lights race at Infineon under the HVM Racing banner.

Garcia rejoins the Indy Lights series having raced a variety of junior formula cars over the past few years. The Mexican made his pro debut in 2006, competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Panam GP Series. showing good speed he was drafted into the Team Mexico squad of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, contesting two races. Garcia subsequently moved to Europe competing in the British Formula 3 International Series in 2007 and the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup series in 2008. Last season he made his lone start at Infineon Raceway in Northern California in the Indy Lights series.

Formed in 2006, Michael Crawford Motorsports has competed solely in the Indy Lights series since its inception. Under the guidance of Crawford, who previously served as a championship-winning general manager with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, the team provided many drivers with their first opportunity to get behind the wheel in the highly competitive developmental race series.
