In a surprise move, Team Moore Racing has regretfully announced that it has terminated the contract of Junior Strous.

Based in Pittsboro, Ind., Team Moore Racing was scheduled to have Strous behind the wheel of one of its two Firestone Indy Lights entries this coming season. However due to circumstances beyond its control, it has terminated the two-time series race winner from the Netherlands contract with the team for the 2010 season.

“This is obviously not what I wanted to happen, because I believe Junior is a very talented racecar driver,” said co-owner Mark Moore. “Unfortunately, there were some issues in the past month with his contract and we felt the most reasonable thing to do was to terminate the contract. The team and I wish Junior all the best. We wish him only good luck in his racing future. He really is a talented young man. As I said, it is truly unfortunate that we have found ourselves in this situation.”

The Team Moore Racing squad is currently busy preparing the car of newly signed Adrian Campos Jr. for the 2010 Indy Lights season-opener, which gets underway on March 28th, with Round One on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla.
