Norwegian racing driver Anders Krohn, 22, recently came to an agreement with Andersen Racing to compete in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. Andersen Racing and Anders dominated the F2000 Championship Series in 2008, and the duo is now back together after spending a season apart.

“I’m extremely happy about the program we’ve put together, and it feels good to have something in place this early," commented Krohn about the upcoming season. "Being back with Andersen Racing feels great, and it’s nice to be back with the people who gave me my first shot in the U.S. racing scene.”

The Star Mazda Championship will consist of 13 races in 2010, with races all over the U.S. and Canada. The schedule is one of the most diverse schedules in the world of racing, with two street circuits, two ovals and nine road courses. The Star Mazda car is powered by a 1.3-liter Mazda Rotary Renesis engine, producing a whopping 250 bhp, while the car’s dry weight is a small 1100 lbs.

Andersen Racing has been a top team in F2000, Star Mazda and Firestone Indy Lights competition for several years, and team co-owner Dan Andersen is happy to have Anders back on the squad.

“We at Andersen Racing are extremely pleased to welcome Anders Krohn back into the family for 2010," stated the team owner. "Our experience with Anders in 2008 proved to us what an amazing talent he is, and though circumstances had him racing for another team last season, we remained fans of his, and we are confident that he will bring us many wins while challenging for a championship in 2010. My entire crew wanted Anders back with us, and I am so pleased we could work it all out.”

Krohn, who is also known as The Viking, has had an exciting off-season working with partners and sponsors towards the 2010 campaign. Trallfa Industries and Colosseum Dental now enter their fourth year running as main sponsors, and they have been joined at the top by new signing Norse Cutting & Abandonment (NCA). NCA is an international service provider for the oil and gas industry, and have projects in all corners of the world. Additional Partners come in the form of Bring Logistics US Inc., ZAT Graphics.com, SR Transport, Racing for Kids, Rioja Tapas Restaurant and Repcon Media. A further expansion in the group of partners is expected, with announcements coming soon.

“Having such a large and varied group of partners is essential to making this campaign hit the ground running, and I feel blessed to be surrounded with such quality and result oriented companies," stated Krohn, who won the 2008 F2000 Championship Series title with Andersen Racing. "Having Trallfa and Colosseum join me yet again as main sponsors, means a lot to me. NCA signing up to be a part of the team is very exciting, and I look forward to commence my relationship with them. The prospects for 2010 are looking very good indeed!”

Andersen Racing’s Director of Driver Development, Jonny Baker, is also excited about seeing Anders back behind the wheel of an Andersen car.

"It's fantastic that Anders is returning home to Andersen Racing for 2010," commented Baker, who was Krohn's teammate at Andersen Racing in 2008. "I saw a lot of Anders in 2008 when he won the F2000 Championship with us, and I firmly believe he is one of the most promising young talents in North America at present. As always, the Star Mazda Championship will be flooded with intense competition, but you can be sure that Anders and Andersen Racing will be a major factor throughout the season."

Krohn is currently spending the Christmas holidays in Norway, but will travel to the U.S. in the beginning of January to commence his 2010 program. Testing will commence mid-January, and the first race will be held on March 19th at Sebring International Raceway. A new version of Anders’ website http://www.anderskrohn.com will be released shortly, and there you will find all the information you need to know about Krohn, Andersen Racing and the 2010 season.

“This is the best possible Christmas present for me, and my eyes are 100% directed towards the upcoming season," ended Krohn. "This is the best possible outcome for 2010, and I’m confident we’ll have a fantastic season. But for now, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I’ll be back with the new website shortly, and more news to follow in January.”
