Former junior formula car standout and current Indy Lights team owner Brian Stewart has announced Stefan Rzadzinski is the 2009 winner of the Brian Stewart Racing award.
Rzadzinski, of Edmonton, Alb., is the latest winner of the Brian Stewart Racing award following a highly-successful inaufural season of car racing in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge. Driving for Brian Graham Racing in the competitive series, the teenager finished as the OFFC runner-up and Rookie-of-the-Year.
“I’m extremely excited and honoured to receive the Brian Stewart Racing Award after finishing as the championship Runner-Up in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge," stated Rzadzinski. "With the intention of becoming a professional racing driver, this is an excellent opportunity to develop my skills and be mentored by a Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame Inductee. I have to thank Brian Stewart Racing for this great opportunity, and I look forward to being a part of the Brian Stewart Racing family in 2010!”
In winning the annually presented Brian Stewart Racing award, Rzadzinski will receive a Bell racing helmet and a custom-made Hinchman driving suit, as well as be part of a formal mentoring program. The program will consist of not only guidance from Brian Stewart, but also Tele-coaching and face-to-face mentoring at the BSR racing shop in Sutton, Ont., and selected races in 2010. In addition, Rzadzinski will have unlimited access to Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame Inductee.
Rzadzinski is currently seeking funding for the 2010 race season and evaluating options, with an eye on moving up the North American motorsports ladder. |
