| Road to Indy: Second Annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test Confirmed |
Officials have confirmed the second annual Chris Griffis Memorial Mazda Road to Indy test will take place in early October at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Slated for October 10-11, the second year-end Chris Griffis Memorial test will feature all three levels of the Mazda Road to Indy program (Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, and Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda) on-course. Dedicated in memory of Sam Schmidt Motorsports' Firestone Indy Lights Team Manager Chris Griffis, the test will take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET on both days, and will utilize the Formula One circuit.
Thanks to recently announced INDYCAR partnerships, top racers from Mexico, Great Britain and Canada will receive a full day of testing. The top-three drivers in the La Tam Challenge Series in Mexico will get a one-day test with a Star Mazda team, while the British Formula Ford and Canadian-based Ontario Formula Ford Championship and Formula Tour F1600 champions will receiving a test in USF2000 Championship car.
Additional information and an entry form will be available in the coming weeks. |
