| Indy Lights: Bryan Herta Autosport and Team Moore Racing Collaboration Puts Ostella on Detroit Grid |

This weekend (June 1-2) David Ostella will take on the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix from a different vantage point. The young Canadian will be starting the Firestone Indy Lights feature on Saturday afternoon from the cockpit of the No. 22 Global Precast/LiUNA/entry fielded by Team Moore Racing with assistance from Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb/Agajanian.
Ostella’s regular Team Moore entry suffered considerable damage through unavoidable contact in a five-car incident during the Firestone Freedom 100 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last weekend. Damage to the car is extensive and repairs were too great to be race-ready for this weekend’s 45-lap feature.
Team Moore immediately went into action to find a solution, and Bryan Herta Autosport was the right fit to field Ostella’s entry this weekend. The white and blue No. 28 car, which was recently run by Anders Krohn in the Freedom 100 will temporarily switch numbers and livery to put the young Canadian back on track.
“I have a lot of respect for Bryan Herta Autosport,” said Ostella. “They run a great program, so I think this partnership with Team Moore will be a great opportunity for me to learn and honestly, I can’t thank them both enough. Without this partnership and all the effort extended to help me after Indy, I wouldn’t be racing this weekend.”
Ostella’s fifth place starting position at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was his open-wheel career best performance.
Though his performance was cut short through no fault of his own, Ostella is grateful and excited to be able to have this opportunity present itself at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.
“I’m confident in this team collaboration and in the car. Indy is behind me now and I’m ready to just race so I can show my sponsors and fans what I’m capable of.”
The 2.07-mile street circuit will play host to the Firestone Indy Lights series for the first time this weekend with two practice sessions on Friday (June 1), followed by qualifications and the race on Saturday (June 2). |
