| Industry News: BGR Team Grote Becomes Piper Race Cars Dealer in Canada |

BGR Team Grote has become the Canadian dealer for Piper Race Cars. The leading F1600 Team has taken delivery of its first Piper DF5, and expects a second car in just a few weeks.
The reigning Ontario Formula Ford Championship champions and Rookie of the Year winner in both the OFFC and the Quebec-based Formula Tour 1600, BGR Team Grote will field at least two Piper DF5's this season, as well as support any customer owned cars in Canada.
The highly regarded Piper DF5 has been a success since its inception, winning the prestigious SCCA National Championship Runoffs in its debut appearance. Since then it has garnered many wins, lap records, and won the inaugural US-based F1600 Formula F Championship Series race last April at VIR. Matched with the most successful F1600 team in the OFFC, the pairing should provide results right away.

A trip to California to visit the Piper facility impressed team owner Brian Graham.
"It was very nice to finally meet with the two Dougs and tour their impressive machine shop. The quality of what they build is absolutely stunning. I am really looking forward to working with them as we develop the cars and take on a whole new challenge with our series, which is also making the switch to Toyo Tires this season. It really is time our team took a step forward in being able to offer our drivers a new car with full support from the factory. I can't wait to get started."
Pre-season testing for BGR Team Grote (www.briangrahamracing.com) is scheduled to begin in April, with the squad focused on not only preparing for the upcoming G1600 season in Canada, but also provide the perfect environment for karters to make the transition to the open-wheel ranks. Driver announcements are expected very shortly. |
