Robinson Motor Sports is excited to announce the signing of Paul Alspach for the upcoming 2012 Cooper Tires Winterfest races at Sebring International Raceway (February 6-7), and the Cooper Tires USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda season-opening races (March 15-16) at the same historic Florida road course.

Alspach, from Allentown, Pa., will make his pro racing debut this spring, when the talented racer pilots a Robinson Motor Sports Formula Enterprises entry in the National class of the USF2000 operated Winterfest tripleheader at Sebring. The Bertil Roos champion will subsequently return to cockpit a little over a month later, when the chase for Mazda Road to Indy glory gets underway via the USF2000 National Championship season-opening doubleheader in conjunction with the prestigious Molbil1 12 Hours of Sebring. Alspach, who will be part of a multi-car effort by Robinson Motor Sports, partnering fellow rookie Eric Filgueiras in the USF2000 races at Sebring in March, made his class debut this fall, winning two SCCA races in his debut with the Florida squad.

"After winning the Bertil Roos Championship, I wanted to continue my goal of becoming a professional racer," stated Alspach. "I decided to pursue the Mazda Road to Indy program and looked at the Formula Enterprise as a starting point. Itís a great car with a Van Demien chassis, Mazda engine, and sequential gearbox. Robinson Motorsports rented me an FE for the November SCCA races, where I won both races of the event. I was hooked on the car and Robinson Motor Sports immediately. The Robinson Motor Sports crew is 'hardcore'. I am very excited to work with RMS. I know we have a championship caliber team."

"Paul learns very quickly," stated Robinson Motor Sports Crew Chief and two-time Formula Enterprises champion Mark Eaton. "He adapted to the FE after only a few pointers, and was fast right away."

Alspach joins Robinson Motor Sports with a long history of winning championships, starting in 2001 at the age of seven in dirt track Quarter Midgets. He then made the transition to the Endurance Karting Series, where he won championships in 2007, 2008, and 2009, as well as participated in 24 hour races in both the United States and England. Advancing up the motorsports ladder, Alspach entered the Bertil Roos Race Series, capturing the Rookie of the Year award in 2010, prior to winning the championship title in 2011. The Pennsylvania native now acts as a racing instructor for the Bertil Roos Racing School.

While Alspach is currently only confirmed for the first event of both the Winterfest and the USF2000 National Championship, he and and Robinson Motor Sports are working hard to find additional funding to run a full campaign.

"I want to be on track with the Championship cars and National drivers and to get a feel for the Cooper tires in preparation for what hopefully will be a full USF2000 National Championship program."

The on-track action for Alspach in a Robinson Motor Sports car commences on February 6-7, with Rounds One, Two, and Three of the Cooper Tires Winterfest at Sebring International Raceway in central Florida.
